Flamengo Secures 2025 Brazilian League Title with One Round to Spare

Flamengo has officially clinched the 2025 Brazilian League title one round before the end of the season, capping a dominant campaign under the guidance of coach Filipe Luís.

The team secured the championship following a 1-0 victory over Ceará, with Samuel Lino scoring the decisive goal in the 37th minute. The win earned Flamengo three crucial points, bringing their total to 78 points, five ahead of closest challengers Palmeiras, making the title mathematically certain even before the final round.

Over the course of 37 league rounds, Flamengo recorded 23 wins, 9 draws, and only 5 losses, delivering one of the strongest performances in the club’s recent history. They led the league offensively with 75 goals scored and boasted the toughest defense with just 24 goals conceded, demonstrating a perfect balance between attacking prowess and defensive solidity.

Flamengo will face Mirassol in their final league match on Sunday—a formality after securing the title—allowing the team to rotate players and prepare for upcoming tournaments.

This championship marks coach Filipe Luís’s fifth title with Flamengo in less than 18 months, coming just five days after the team’s Copa Libertadores triumph against Palmeiras, highlighting his remarkable ability to guide Flamengo to success both domestically and internationally.

In addition to domestic glory, Flamengo has confirmed their participation in the Intercontinental Cup in Qatar, where they will open their campaign against Mexico’s Cruz Azul on December 10, aiming to add another prestigious trophy to their collection.
