Ferran López Undergoes Key Medical Test Today to Confirm Return Ahead of Betis and Frankfurt Clashes

Barcelona midfielder Ferran López, 22, is undergoing decisive medical tests today at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to determine whether he is ready to return to action, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The young midfielder is hoping to receive the green light to feature on Saturday against Real Betis, with the aim of reaching full fitness ahead of the crucial Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt next Tuesday.

López has been sidelined with calf muscle problems since the La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao, where he was forced to stop as a precaution after failing to complete training on Thursday, November 27. His condition kept him out of the league fixtures against Alavés and Atlético Madrid.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Ferran’s recovery has become even more significant following the serious injury to Dani Olmo, who is expected to be out until 2026 due to a shoulder dislocation. Ferran’s return is now considered essential to reinforce the attacking midfield and provide coach Hansi Flick with much-needed tactical options for the upcoming decisive matches.
